My last, and most memorable, code poem (for now). It was the first time I played with spacing (concatenating two keywords into one that has more poetic meaning) and with form (the way I initially transcribed the poem lent itself to haiku). The syllabic constraints of writing a haiku created moments where I had the line laid out but was missing just a two-syllable word. Drawing from such a limited pool, it was interesting to see how the poem changed when I replaced “without” with “unless” with “repeat.” It reinforced something I’ve always believed- that constraint breeds creativity.
